Firefox 1.5 is there! (or will be in a seconds)

Yes, yes, yes!
Mozilla Firefox 1.5 is ready and waiting for you at www.mozilla.org* (cute, new design!) and the Polish version is at www.firefox.pl*.

It’s a huge release. We were working on Firefox 1.0 for years, and after we released it, we received feedback from tens of thousands of users. And that’s what we were working on for last year. This feedback.

So now, in front of your door, there is Firefox 1.5. The best available browser ever released.**

It is also, the second product version released, where I was involved in. And I’m really proud of what I did. For Fx 1.0 I was the head of polish project AviaryPL, and I was doing activist work of finding bugs, testing nightlies, creating testcases etc. Maybe with a few small contributions to the code. The only big thing was the amount of time I spent on the IRC to help l10n folks get their builds for Fx 1.0 release.
For Firefox 1.5, I fixed many more bugs including bringing Firefox and Thunderbird to source-l10n system, solving some CSS related bugs, UI bugs, a few Download Manager related ones (including the famous Firefox can’t count bug), I was also much deeper involved in Mozilla Localization Project as I became a member of MLP, I was also invited to Board of Directors of Mozilla Europe.
I love Firefox 1.5 and I believe that it’s almost perfect generic browser – the successor of Internet Explorer.

I love to work on innovative things. And that’s why I decided to join Flock team and focus my work on this project. I believe that we can make a great browser that will coexist with Firefox and be the solution for people who want “something more”. I want to thank for the help so many people gave me in Mozilla, including Benjamin Smedberg, Boris Zbarsky, Axel Hecht, any so many other wonderful folks
I will still try to contribute Gecko engine on weekends and holidays if possible, I still want to help in Mozilla Europe and Localization issues in Mozilla, I still want to help with Developer Mozilla Center, but I will not work on Firefox anymore and I will be leaving Polish Mozilla structures.
I hope you understand that I must focus on one product, and my choice is Flock.

I feel really proud of my contribution to such a great project like Firefox and I believe that with my little help, the WWW world is better now.

And now it’s time to focus on the future, where Flock will take it’s part 🙂 Wish me luck!
